Giovanni Pedde (Paramount Pictures Europe, Italy)
Giovanni Pedde is an attorney admitted to both the New York and Italian Bars and a graduate of the University of Rome and New York University's LL.M program in international legal studies.
Mr Pedde has been active in the area of international since the early University years in a variety of capacities: as a journalist and film critic first (he has been a correspondent of the "Rivista del Cinematografo" from the United States), then as a producer and screenwriter (his screenplay "Undertow" has won the Best Screenplay Award of the Italian Government in 1994 as well as the European Script Fund twice) and as a lawyer in New York City.
Since 1990 he has been an entertainment lawyer in the international law offices of Loeb & Loeb, in New York City first and then Rome. In this capacity he has represented many among producers, distributor and talent both in Europe and in the United States and has approached the industry in a wide, multi-faceted manner.
He is a member of the editorial board, and country correspondent, of the Entertainment Law Review, Sweet & Maxwell's prestigious legal review, and he has published a variety of articles and opinions for various international publications.
Since 1991 ha has been a professor of entertainment law and practise at the European Master in Audiovisual Management (EMAM) organised by MAGICA - Master Europeo in Gestione di Impresa Cinematografica e Audiovisiva with the support of the Media Programme of the European Union. Mr.Pedde has been visiting professor at New York University's Graduate School of law and at the Media Business School and Film Business School in Spain.
Ha has recently discontinued legal practice to join Paramount Pictures International Television, having been appointed Vice President European Operation with production and distribution responsibility for Italy, Spain, France and Portugal.
