Giancarlo Chetta (EMAM 2000)
In my personal experience the EMAM has represented the unique valid opportunity in Italy ( and probably one of the most interesting in Europe) to know and then to be part of the entertainment industry. Having the occasion to follow classes with the most important entertainment managers, talk with them and exchange opinions and impressions, it has been the best way to understand how entertainment industry works.
Giancarlo Chetta, after a degree in economics, had different work experiences in fiscal firms and as marketing junior manager. Later on he moved to Rome to attend the EMAM during which he developed a Business Plan on a low budget Film Production. Then, he was offered two different stages, the first one at Cult Network Italia (Cultural Digital Channel of SKY Italia platform) as programming assistant, the second one at Intramovies (one of the leading Italian sales companies) as a sales assistant..
In January 2002, Giancarlo joined Sharada, an independent Italian Film Company, run by Andrea de Liberato. At the beginning, he worked as assistant of the administration manager, dealing with Italian state subsidies( Fondo di Garanzia) and contracts. But, what made this experience very important, was the fact that in a small company Giancarlo, who was very interested in all the distribution aspects, had the opportunity of getting in touch with all the different sides of distribution ( acquisition of rights, planning advertising campaigns, homevideo exploitation). Furthermore, over the same period, Giancarlo had the opportunity of working for Poetiche Cinematografiche ( an Andrea de Liberato Production Company), following the development and production of different feature films.
In April 2003 he moved to a new distribution and production company, Revolver.
At the moment he is in charge of administration and contracts.
