Riccardo Chiattelli, Italy (EMAM 2001)

The EMAM was crucial to start my professional experience in the media and TV sector: joining Cult Network Italia – where I attended my internship and I am still working – the know-how acquired during the 4 months of course and the daily contacts I had with a network of professionals coming from the media industry led me to acquire, in a short time, the necessary tools and skills to work in the international film and television sectors. Besides, another important and enjoyable factor that taught me to work with enthusiasm and passion was the opportunity of sharing different experiences and expectations with my classmates coming from other countries.

A graduate in Communication Sciences at Università La Sapienza of Rome with a dissertation on the relationship between the Internet and the music industry (“Digital Majors. Strategies and models in the music industry after Napster. A case history: EMI Music Group” (www.tesionline.it) - supervisor: Prof. Alberto Marinelli.

In 2001 he attends the EMAM and is offered the Masters internship programme at CNI - Cult Network Italia, a digital thematic channel of PrimoSky bouquet (formerly Stream’s) dedicated to Cinema, Culture and Communication, where he is still working as responsible of Communication & Marketing (relations with the press and the media, organisation of events, special projects for promotion of programmes, partnerships and sponsorships, brand management). Thanks to the educational and professional background acquired so far, Riccardo has a wide knowledge and understanding of the main sectors of communication, particularly new and mass media, from both management and creative sides, with special expertise in satellite television and new sperimentazioni in the digital sector.
Furthermore, thanks to the experience at “Cult Network” he has acquired a good knowledge of the Italian cultural scene through regular contacts with the maing institutions such as La Biennale di Venezia, Fondazione Romaeuropa, Comune di Roma (Rome City Council), regional bodies, Museums and private institutions, the publishing and music industry, Sindacato Critici Cinematografici (Cinema Critics Union), Mostra del Cinema di Venezia. His previous work experience was as a project manager, copywriter and editor for TV and web based communication projects.
