Valentina Crimi [EMAM]

While at university I chose show business as my future career when I elected to write my thesis on a topic related to the film industry, so for me the EMAM was an important step from my perception of this industry to its reality. The excellent training provided during the Masters course, which increased my motivation to work in this sector, let me achieve my objective: a career in the film industry. It was very stimulating to work with an international array of teachers and classmates from various European countries. Although a seemingly added value it proved crucial to working in the European market, which aims to strengthen the relations and collaborations among the different countries. Furthermore, my professional involvement in the sector actually began with a collaboration with one of my Masters classmates who founded his own production company, BLOOMING PICTURES. In short, the EMAM can serve - as it did for me - not only as an occasion to learn more about and to get training in the professional audiovisual world but also as an important link to a career in it.

While studying Business Administration at the University of Genoa, she was Project co-ordinator and Human Resources manager of AIESEC, the Italian Association of the University Students in Economics and Business Adminisration. Soon after taking her Degree with a dissertation on "Management Themes of Italian Production Companies" she attended the EMAM - European Master in Audiovisual Management in 1999. At the end of the course she attended her internship at Film Master in Rome participating in all phases of commercials production (preparation, shooting, editing), script analysis for the movie department (Film Master Film), backstage shooting.

From early 2001 until February 2002 she was Advisor for Blooming Pictures, the production company founded by one of her Masters classmates, Riccardo Di Russo (see reference in this section).
She worked at the Development dealing with analysis of European market and selection of potential co-producers, research of European financing for of development and production support and of international talent and contacts, script analysis, business planning.

Then she worked as Advisor for Cattleya, in charge of analysis of European markets, research of potential co-producers, drafting a report on the situation of the Italian film industry. She is currently working at Panorama Films, a Rome based production company, dealing with budgeting and Business Planning.
